Jackson Healthcare is seeking an Intern to assist our Risk Management team with claims, sourcing & screening of provider files, insurance, and system support.  To be successful in this role, you should be an excellent communicator both verbal and written.  You should be advanced in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Create, edit, and enhance spreadsheets to include graphs and pivot tables
  • Assist with automation of our Risk Management Information System
  • Review claim information and upload into our Risk system and shared drives
  • Input and update insurance policy information into our Risk system
  • Source & screen clinician files with red flags to determine eligibility for coverage under Jackson Healthcare’s Professional Liability program
  • Consolidate paper files into a paperless system
  • Help out with insurance renewal requirements
  • Special projects as they arise
  • Support Risk Management team as needed


Required Education/Experience 

  • Current college student pursuing a degree in Risk Management
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with a focus in Excel & PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Diligent, responsible, resourceful, organized, and able to multi-task
  • Possess creativity, flexibility, enthusiasm, and growth potential
  • Persistent and dependable, especially with attendance and meeting deadlines
