VMS offers access to experienced psychiatrists, neurologists and hospitalists through HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platforms. We provide a technology-agnostic approach to telemedicine and work with clients' existing equipment or introduce appropriate technology to support their services.

    Job Description 
    The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing the successful execution of multiple complex projects from project initiation through project close. These include telemedicine program implementations throughout the country across a variety of medical specialties, as well as internal departmental projects to improve infrastructure. Duties include documenting progress and organizing internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects on time and within budget.


    Responsibilities include:

    • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues
    • Manage a portfolio of complex telemedicine initiatives spanning multiple lines of service
    • Manage internal projects related to technology, infrastructure, process improvement and change management
    • Responsible for multiple projects and programs simultaneously
    • Effectively manage implementations through entire project lifecycle – initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling, and closing
    • Maintain current project documentation (including charter, communication plan, project plan, issues/risks register, benefits register, budget/forecast, workflows, KPI reporting, lessons learned, etc.)
    • Proactively manage issues and risks and document appropriately
    • Lead and motivate organizational resources
    • Provide status reporting to leadership regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues
    • Effective management of project scope, issues, risks and change requests
    • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives related to improving project delivery
    • Manage cross-functional interdependencies
    • Improve processes to optimize performance and value over time (with an emphasis on Lean Six Sigma best practices)
    • Provide constructive feedback and coaching of project resources to drive improvement



    • Requirements

      • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
      • Candidates with PgMP and PfMP certifications will receive special consideration
      • Bachelor's degree required
      • Strong focus on Project Management Institute (PMI) standards and telemedicine industry best practices
      • 5+ years of project management
      • 5+ years of business analysis
      • 5+ years of process flow / data flow diagramming
      • Lean Six Sigma experience / belt certification preferred
      • Healthcare industry experience preferred
      • Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
      • Proficiency with MS Project
      • Proficiency with MS Visio

      • Excellent knowledge of project, program, and portfolio management standards as published by the Project Management Institute
      • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques
      • Process flow documentation skills
      • Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs
      • Interpersonal skills to influence change, and facilitate and enhance performance in a cross-functional environment
