    The Business Intelligence Engineer will collect, aggregate, store, and reconcile data using Microsoft Azure technologies. The BI Engineer will help design and build data warehouses / data marts / data models for use by reporting tools, information dashboards and other end-user information portals and insight tools. Data from on-premises and 3rd party sources will be utilized. This role will play a critical part ensuring business users can access and manipulate data for routine and ad hoc analysis.

    Description

    The Business Intelligence Engineer will collect, aggregate, store, and reconcile data using Microsoft Azure technologies. The BI Engineer will help design and build data warehouses / data marts / data models for use by reporting tools, information dashboards and other end-user information portals and insight tools. Data from on-premises and 3rd party sources will be utilized. This role will play a critical part ensuring business users can access and manipulate data for routine and ad hoc analysis.

     

    Key Role Responsibilities:

    • Designing and implementing data models for cloud data environments
    • Develop and maintain data environments, layouts, architectures and relational/non-relational databases for data access and Advanced Analytics
    • Analyze current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging Microsoft Azure Data & Analytics PaaS Services
    • Expose Azure based environments to end users via PowerBI, Excel (PowerQuery)
    • Translate business requirements to technical solutions
    • Support the planning and implementation of data design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance and performing needs assessments
    • Delivery of architectures for transformations and modernizations of data solutions using Azure cloud data technologies

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or another relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also suffice.
    • 2-5+ years of relevant professional experience.
    • Experience with Git/TFS/VSTS/Azure DevOps is a must
    • Working experience with Visual Studio
    • Experience with data modeling in Power BI, Excel and Visual Studio
    • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Storage Accounts, Azure SQL, Azure Analysis Services is required

     

    Desired skills:

    • Experience preparing data for Data Science and Machine Learning 
    • Demonstrated experience preparing data and building data pipelines for AI Use Cases (text, voice, image, etc.…) 
    • Azure HDInsight + Spark, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Databricks, Azure Stream Analytics 
    • Knowledge of Python
    • PowerShell Scripting
