This is a key leadership role managing the daily activities of the revenue cycle front end processes. The primary focus is to ensure daily receipt and reconciliation of charges for coding, demographic and charge entry. This position will develop and maintain relationships with internal/external clients to include payers, patients and leadership. The position will have additional responsibility of maintaining appropriate staffing levels, productivity and performance management. Strong leadership skills will allow a lead by example model that exhibits the culture and core values (Others first, Wisdom, Growth) of the organization and company at all times. The supervisor has crucial input on process re-engineering, implementation of productivity tools and staff change management. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, be reliable, and work independently. Background in MedSuite and anesthesia billing is a plus.
• Manage all intake and data entry employees. This includes planning and assigning work to each employee, and handling personnel review and disciplinary actions, including suspension and termination of employees. • Formulate and maintain training methods for employees. This includes teaching and updating employees on the proper data entry procedure, orienting them in company policies, and integrating them smoothly into company operations. • Develop new work methods and procedures to make data entry as efficient and productive as possible. Facilitate the work flow of data entry and make it as streamlined as possible. • Monitor and document performance of all processes. • Assists with documentation of quality audits for employee records and office supplies. • Prepare resources documenting instructions and systems documentation process flows. • Ensures quality and accuracy of all data entry work by reviewing all data processed by the team members • Supervises day-to-day operations of all intake and data entry work, shifting schedules of staff, and task assignments within the department. • Coordinates with other departments in other related matters. • Provides leadership and guidance for all intake and data entry staff. • Attend leadership meetings and represent the intake and data entry department • Assist in all intake and data entry work that is highly specialized and difficult. • Assist staff with questions and difficulties. • Analyze internal operations and procedures and formulate and recommend proper changes as needed. Jackson Billing and Collections Rev.1/09 Patient Registrar Page 2 • He or she will have to evaluate the personnel performance of each and every employee and should give the suggestions if needed. • He or she should have the quality of coordinating with other departments in other related matters as it compliments to each other. • He or she should have the required leadership and guidance skills and specifications for all data entry staff. • QA of offshore team required • Ensure precerts are completed in a timely manner • Ensure cosmetic invoicing is completed by the 10th of each month • Required knowledge of FTP, shared drive locations and facility portals • Maintain flexibility and organization to ensure all tasks are completed as assigned • Interacts with physicians, physician office personnel, hospital personnel, insurance company personnel and patients demonstrating superior customer service • Maximizes the use of available technologies to improve revenue cycle workflow and maximize collections. • Knowledge of billing requirements and facility EMR databases
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or business administration. • Medical Terminology • Medical Billing/Anesthesia
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: • Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in healthcare industry positions (admissions, charge entry, intake), with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role • Minimum of two (2) years anesthesia front end experience
