  • Overview

    The Director of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) will manage all HR systems and lead the HCMS team in a service oriented and integrated human resources operations function. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with IT, Accounting, Payroll, and across all functional HR areas to develop and integrate innovative technical solutions in support of business objectives.  Develops, implements, and modifies system requirements for UltiPro and other HR systems.  Oversees the maintenance of internal database files and tables.  The Director of HRIS will develop and oversee the execution of tactical plans to assure that HRIS supports the Company’s strategic objectives.  They will ensure system and process documentation is maintained and current to ensure compliance with various governance and audit requirements.  This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources.


    •  Act as a subject matter expert on technical projects in support of strategic business needs including system implementations, data migrations, system upgrades, patches, etc.
    • Develop and analyze reports based on business needs and objectives (e.g., executive summaries, dashboards, etc.)
    • Supervise the creation of ad-hoc and scheduled reports and audit processes
    • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that arise regarding import/export of system data. Experience with system integration administration is needed.
    • Create policies and procedures to maintain data integrity in systems
    • Proactively recommend process/customer service improvements
    • Develop and maintain standard work processes, user procedures, guidelines, and documentation
    • Interact with Information Technology (IT) regarding updates to HR systems and customizations
    • Design and execute training curriculum of new staff on HCMS and related procedures
    • Oversee the ongoing maintenance of security through all HR systems
    • Act as “tier-2” support for resolving HR, employee and manager system questions, issues, and requests related to current HR systems platforms
    • Reconcile and authorize monthly invoice payments to ensure that billing arrangements comply with contract stipulations of HCM systems.




    • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS) or related work experience


    Experience Required:


    • Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in Human Resource Information System (HCMS) administration
    • Three (3) to five (5) years’ supervisory experience of multiple direct reports
    • Must be comfortable in matrixed organizations with cross-functional reporting relationships
    • Excellent investigate skills to resolve complex technical issues in HCM systems
    • Familiarity with Human Resources concepts, practices and procedures
    • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Excel functionality (e.g., pivot tables, heavy data analysis using formulas, filtering, vlookup, etc.). MS Access is preferred.
    • Subject Matter Expertise on HR technical projects as a Product Owner, understanding how technology can enhance strategic objectives of an organization.
    • SQL and HTML knowledge preferred
    • UltiPro and ADP Workforce Now (version 15). Must be a high-powered user with IBM Cognos Analysis and other reporting software such as ADP Custom Reporting, MS Access Query, Crystal Reports.
    • Creating test cases, test scripts, and executing system/user testing
    • Software training facilitation, generating training documentation

    • Previous experience supporting software implementations and upgrades
    • Ability to write and troubleshoot reports using multiple reporting tools
    • Solid knowledge of database design, structures, and functionality
    • Ability to document standard work and process flows in a logical and simple manner
    • Ability to appropriately manage multiple tasks and priorities while continuing to meet deadlines
    • Ability to communicate and maintain positive working relationships with multiple levels in the organization and with outside vendors
    • Maintains a high-degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, salary data, benefits data and other personal information maintained in the HR systems
    • Solid technical problem solving capabilities with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
